South Loop condominium sales report for 2013 YTD

By Christine Hancock. The South Loop in Chicago had 1057 closings in 2013, with 259 active listings it has barely 3 months worth in inventory. The South Loop inventory is not as low as some other areas but still low when you consider historic levels for the past few years when we had as much as 1 year worth of inventory. The South Loop real estate market is also seeing an increase in multiple offers on units that are priced correctly. This area also has some of the most new construction inventory available in the city, with buildings such as The Grant (1201 S. Prairie) and Harbor View (1901 S. Calumet) selling very well. Harbor View sold 82 homes and The Grant sold 89 homes in 2013.
